Mari Hall PhD is a facilitator of self-development courses, Life Skills coach, and Reiki Master Teacher.
Leaving Texas in 1989 in response to an inner voice, she moved to Europe where she founded the International Association of Reiki.
When her base office moved to Liberec, Czech Republic in 1992, Mari traveled throughout Europe and Australia for almost two decades, teaching Reiki to over 45,000 people.
She has served on the British Board of Complementary Medicine and been actively involved in establishing teaching and professional standards for the international Reiki community.
The Czech Government nominated her for the humanitarian award Heart of the Country in 1998.
In 2004, she brought the International Association of Reiki organization back home to Texas.
Currently, Mari travels and teaches all levels of Reiki, her One Energy Therapy seminar, and she facilitates online Reiki for the Soul and Majesty of Mastery Home Study courses for students in Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA.
She is the author of eight books on Reiki published by Thorsens (Harper Collins), Piatkus Books and Infinite Light Healing Studies Center, Inc., as well as Studio Emka and Pragma, Poland. Her current writing project is a fairy tale.
Shellie T. Newell has been a professional photographer and a fish salesperson, and was among the first ten female TV directors in the USA. She has backpacked across America with HikaNation, held positions in public relations and advertising, trigged out drawings in a tooling machine shop, written technical manuals, and written and edited a variety of newsletters.
After 18 years as a managing editor/manuscript editor for the top-rated Nephrology Journal worldwide, she opened her own successful copy editing business in 2002, with a focus on biomedical textbooks and journals.
These jobs have all supported her quest as an ecumenical spiritual seeker, avid reader and student in a wide variety of seminars, workshops, and ceremonies.
Her first Reiki class was in 1984. Shellie’s soul resonates with the Lakota spiritual path, and she has been privileged to follow several teachers along the Red Road since the early 1980s.
The Doorways for My Soul Journal is conceived as a way to help readers develop insights and life strategies. It contains a series of brief evocative essays with three to five pages of lines for readers to write their own thoughts.
A short section follows, allowing the reader to review after a defined period of time (weeks, month, or year) what was written in the past and comment in the present.
Accompanying the journal are the Doorways for My Soul Focus Cards, each designed around a word from each essay’s theme, with a reference number relating it to the journal. The cards may be used in various ways: to investigate a question: by picking a card, looking up the associated journal entry, then writing thoughts, or by relating an information card within one of the suggested ‘spreads’ to the journal, and thinking about how it applies in a situation.
Readers might even design their own card layout and determine its meaning.
The CD comprises 3 guided meditations read by Mari against a musical background.
